About TTY Trainer The "TTY TRAINER" (U.S. Patent #5,012,508) was introduced in 1989. It is a very useful device that teaches deaf and hard of hearing students how to practice communication skills, to improve their type-written language skills, and to increase reading proficiency. All are done on the SAME TABLE! The superiority of this "2-way" trainer device is not required to be hooked to any existing telephone lines! It is very easy to operate: Just plug its power cord into an electrical wall outlet and place the telephone handsets on each TTY's dual acoustic cups. (For the direct-connection version, plug the telephone line cords to the TTY's telephone jack). Flip the power switch to on, then, you are ready to go!
